Join UConn’s Global Health Hackathon!

GloHSOC was created in 2018 by a group of diverse undergraduate students from many departments and schools at UConn, all united by a common goal to create an open forum for discussing issues related to the health of individuals around the world. They believed that global health is a diverse field with complex problems that require innovative and interdisciplinary solutions. To engage this diversity of skill in the field, this year GloHSOC is organizing their 2nd Annual Global Health Hackathon: Vaccine Victory! This online event, which will be held this weekend (November 6-8), invites students from all different majors and backgrounds to come together and create innovative solutions to pressing issues in global health (and win cash prizes!).

The theme for this year seeks to explore innovative ways to better vaccinations and address the barriers of turning vaccines into vaccinations, including vaccine development, distribution, delivery, and administration. Example projects include health policy solutions, business proposals, prototypes solving common problems that arise during vaccine transportation, infrastructure improvements, etc. The idea is to innovation from across UConn and provide an opportunity for students to challenge themselves and gain a greater understanding of Global Health.
